So it’s almost time to start another year and when I look back over the posts I’ve made this year, of which there are rather few, I can’t help but think that this blog is starting to lose it’s value somewhat. I need to make a decision as to whether to continue it or to give it up completely. Obviously I’ll keep what’s written up on the site for posterity, but I need to decide whether I’m going to make a concerted effort to be more active in it or to give up on it completely. What do you think I should do?
Anyway in either case, until I’ve made that decision I’m gonna continue with this post as I had a few things I wanted to say. Just highlights of what’s happened in my life recently that warrant a mention. Firstly, I’m now working software full-time for Genesis, with the IT department having finally found a replacement after 3 months. I’m looking forward to 2012 and starting my first full year as a full-time member of the Software team.
Also, for my xmas I bought myself an electric guitar. It’s an archtop (Hollow body) guitar. An Epiphone ‘Dot’ in Cherry colour, similar in style to the more expensive Gibson 335 that’s used by the likes of Noel Gallagher and the late John Lennon. I’ve got it hooked up to GarageBand on my MacBook just now, experimenting with the various sounds I can get from the multitude of Amps and pedal effects that it emulates. I’ve got a steep learning curve ahead of me, but I’m looking forward to being able to blast out a cool bluesy solo and eventually learning some of my favourite Oasis solos, specifically “Slide Away”.
I’m still single and not at all bothered by it. It’s easier to say that around this time of year for some reason. I think it’s because most nights you go out are good nights because everyone’s happy it’s Xmas and in a good mood. Plus I’ve got enough excitement and challenges in my life to keep me occupied for the time being as it is.
Hopefully going on a few holidays next year. There’s been talk of going to the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa as well as Oktoberfest in Munich and a trip to see Cornsy in Stavanger as well. Plenty to look forward to anyway.
That’s about all I can think of just now so all that remains is for me to wish everyone who might happen to be reading this a very Merry Xmas and all the best for 2012.
